PHANTOM CALCITES were only mined in the 70ies. Those years there was plenty coming from deep down the mines in Santa Eulalia in Mexico, not too far away from Chihuahua City. Today there are no more for sale, at reasonable prices. Because of my persistency, October last year 2004, I located some. I stumbled across a few boxes of these beautiful and now rare calcite specimens, hidden under a bed of an old guy in the small village of Santa Eulalia, who used to work in the mines. He was very happy with the dollars I offered him. Through friends of mine in El Paso ,Texas, they were than shipped over to Australia.. Prices are still very reasonable.
