The Crystal Caves – The Tablelands Number One Tourist Attraction
The Crystal Caves offers guests an interactive tour of a truly unique underground Cave system which visitors are able to explore at their leisure, and where they can see, touch and feel the ancient treasures of the earth. Enlarged several times since it was initially created back in 1986, The Caves is being constantly updated, with new displays and specimens added regularly.
Guests are given a miners helmet, a light and a comprehensive map with printed guide before they set off on their self-guided tour. This is a truly special experience!
The Crystals, minerals and fossils on display in The Caves have been collected over four decades by our founders and still current owners, René and Nelleke Boissevain, and is one of the most acclaimed in Australia. (Click here to see Visitor Comments) Rare and beautiful specimens from South America, Africa, Madagascar, Europe and the outback of Australia are all on display in this spectacular setting.
René’s vision has always been that people should be able to see, touch and feel the special crystals and minerals on display as much as possible, and that ideal continues in The Caves today. Guests are able to move throughout the cave system at their own pace using the printed guide provided to identify and learn about the spectacular specimens.
Photography is welcome and is encouraged throughout The Caves and guests with cameras are able leave with beautiful photographs of the wonders that they have seen.
Guests need to allow up to one full hour to experience all that The Crystal Caves has to offer.
